Doing or building is the most powerful way to solve problems, express ideas and shape our world. What we do and how we do it defines who we are and communicates what we want to be.
For many people, doing is essential to survive. For others, it is a vocation, a way of thinking, inventing and innovating. For some, it is simply the pleasure of being able to materialize an idea and be able to say "I have done it." The power to do is the satisfaction of our human needs and desires. Doing is within everyone's reach, from the simplest everyday objects to the most advanced creations. The development of this potential is what characterizes us and makes us more human.
Jordi Closa of Adidas will speak to us about all this at the conference "The Power of Making", next Thursday, October 18.
About Jordi Closa
As a product designer, he has spent over 15 years designing for Adidas across a range of different categories, from accessories and hardware to apparel and footwear. As a multi-disciplinary re-creator, he's passionate about up-cycling. He enjoys consciously reusing materials and objects, whether it's to find a new use for them or to completely re-invent their purpose. He loves knowing that he is extending the lives of leftover products before they reach the trash, the oceans or our stomachs. With over 18 years of experience in creating products, he is thrilled to be able to put all his energy into the MakerLab Network.
